The Priory Rights of a Child & Autism Awareness day.
Wednesday 2nd April 2014.
Today we held our Rights of the Child day. It was also National Autism Awareness Day and we all came dressed in blue to celebrate the occasion. Each of our classes chose a 'Right' and discussed this as a class. Following this each class prepared some art work related to their right, to share in assembly and to put on display.
Mr Harrison also set a competition to design a onesie over the Easter holiday. Prizes will be awarded to two children from each class, who are judged to have the best designs! The competition will cost £1 to enter and the money raised will be donated to the Autism charity. The prizes have been generously donated by Mrs Forsyth - many thanks to you!
Please check out our photographs of what was an enlightening and truly enjoyable day. We feel the children now understand their rights in more depth and in addition to this, have a deeper understanding of Autism.
