As part of our programme of Cultural Education in school we celebrated everything Polish by holding a Polish Day on Friday 7th June 2013.
Mrs Kelly had many meetings with some Polish parents prior to the event; which thanks to their dedication and generosity was an enormous success!
The children were able to learn about the lives of their friends in a little more detail and also learn much more about Polish history through stories, art and song! They also investigated the geography of Poland and the teachers learned lots too!
The Polish team created an amazing display in the school hall which looked absolutely stunning. They also prepared lots of exciting food for each year group to taste. This went down brilliantly with many children (and teachers!) going back for second and third helpings! Even the parents were able to taste some of the food at the beginning of our Celebration Assembly.
The event was rounded off in Celebration Assembly in the afternoon where the children explained what they had been doing and showed examples of their work to the children and parents.
Finally, a big thank you once again to the 'Polish Day Team', without who, the day would have not been such a wonderful success! Your time and effort were really appreciated!
