What a week we have had so far! Today marked the whole school start to waste week with Mrs Harrison introducing Waste week in an assembly. She explained to the children what Waste Week was all about and introduced the children to a really cool competition which links brilliantly with Science and Engineering week.
The children in Years 3 and 4 then performed their mega cool recycling song to the tune of Queen's 'We will rock you', entitled 'We will Recycle'. The children had spent time recycling and reusing old materials to make 'junk percussion instruments' which they used to accompany the lyrics! They blew us all away with their energy and enthusiasm. We were really pleased that our School Eco Governor was able to attend our assembly and witness first hand, the children's commitment to the environment!
The children have also created a wonderful display in the hall entitled 'Waste Week', which showcases their creativity: posters, pledges, their instruments and photographs of them hard at work. There are lots of photographs of the children in action and hard at work below.
I wonder what other exciting things will be happening in school over the next week!
Well done children, we're really proud of you!
