Welcome to the Summer Term in York class.
Welcome back everyone!
Mrs Mucha, Miss Pike and myself are looking forward to spending the summer term with you. Scroll to the bottom of this page for our class newsletter for this half term.
Keep an eye out for Hedgehog week photos and information.
See you on Monday!
Mrs K. :)
Hedgehog Awareness Week.
We have had the most wonderful day today, as it has been our hedgehog day! We were joined by Sara from Twiggaras Hogspital and Ann who is one of our neighbours. We learned lots about hedgehogs and how we can help boost their numbers as there are less than 1 million hedgehogs left in the wild!
We also met Stevie the blind hedgehog who loved meeting us all and was very active! We did some super creative work - check out the pictures below. Many thanks to Mr John Timby, The Wildlife Gardeners and Mr Ian Chamberlain who have made the most amazing hedgehog houses, all ready for The Big Hedgehog Release on Thursday at dusk!
We're really looking forward to our assembly tomorrow - starting at 2.35pm - all welcome!
Easter Rocks and Roles.
The Year 3 and 4 production 2017.
Or should we call it a theatrical sensation? The children have one more performance remaining, and are going from strength to strength. Everyone has been impressed with their acting, singing and the super effort the children have put in to retelling the Easter Story. Well done everyone, we are all incredibly proud of you.
Many thanks to parents and carers too, for their help with learning lines, song words and organising costumes.
Check out the cast photos below!
Happy Easter to you all.
Autumn in York Class!
Recently we have been embracing the wonderful weather and our super school grounds-learning all about Autumn. We have been reading and acting out Autumn poems; creating natural sculptures; writing thank you poems to God and we also took part in an RSPB morning which was awesome! Autumn has taken over our classroom and our literacy work. Check out the pictures below to see what we've been up to!
Here in York class we are learning our Class Song, called 'What I am', by Will.I.Am and the Sesame Street crew. We are learning to believe in ourselves and not to give up even when things get tricky! We have also been celebrating what is fabulous about us, be it our super smiles, sense of humour or friendly, caring personalities! Please help your child to learn the lyrics and maybe even think of some actions that we can do when singing our song in class - have fun!
