A big THANK YOU!

First of all I just wanted to thank you all for your hard work over half term. We are also really grateful for the pictures you have sent in for displays - these are now up and look great!

A few notes for you:

  • I have sent out handwriting sheets in the back of your pink homework book to practise your letters and words. Please use this and then continue to use the lined paper in your pink book, working from the back of your homework book to practise writing your letters neatly and cursive handwriting.
  • In History next week we are making a time travelling Tardis to help us travel back in time to find out about Eastwood in the past. If you could send in any old newspapers you have read and cardboard boxes e.g. cereal boxes, shoe boxes this would be really appreciated.

Welcome to our new class and a new school year!

  • This week we have introduced times table circles in the back of your reading journal. You need to practise these at home. Every week at school we will test you on your current times table. You will need to get 100% 3 weeks running before we say you have successfully learnt each times table and are ready to move on. When tested you won’t necessarily be asked the times tables in order e.g. 1x3, 2x3 … questions will be asked in any order, as well as “if the answer is 22 – what is the maths story?”. So work hard! These are to be tested week beginning 16.10.17
  • Practise spellings - blue book - to be tested and in for Friday 20.10.17
  • Continue to complete 1 reading challenge a week, as well as reading each day and recording this in your journal. Please remind your child to also make sure they have their reading book and journal in school everyday.

On Friday this week Adam from Every Health came into our class and gave us a taster session about healthy eating and exercise - 13.10.17

In Literacy this week we had a debate about if cereal bars were healthy or not. We argued for and against and then decided a winner - 13.10.17

Important Notice - 13.10.17

When your child arrives in a morning could you remind them if they have any letters to hand them in, rather than leaving these to sit in the bottom of their bags. I know sometimes they forget and it can be hard to check each individual child.

Thank you.

Miss Fisher
