This half term we will be learning about:
RSHE: We will begin the half term by looking at Jesus Heals Jairus’ Daughter. Followed by Me, My Body, My Health.
Literacy: This half term, we will begin by looking at poetry with ’The Lion and Albert’. Then we will have a look at a portal story called ‘Mortimer’s Hole’. We will finish by looking at some non-fiction writing based around our City of Nottingham topic.
Maths: In our Place Value unit, we will cover numbers to 1000 to begin with and then we will move on to representing numbers to 10000. We will look at roman numerals, rounding to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000. We will also cover partitioning numbers, comparing and ordering 4 digit numbers, counting in 25’s and then counting backwards through zero into negative numbers
Computing: We will be looking at using the internet safely to research the history of Nottingham as linked to our history topic.
Art: We will be looking closely at Nottingham’s lace industry, textiles, Paul Smith and we will be experimenting with printing.
Science: We will be learning about Living things and their habitats. As part of this we will explore and use classification keys to help group, identify, and name a variety of living things in their local and wider environment.
History: We will be looking at the topic ‘The city of Nottingham’. We will be looking at how the city has changed over the past 200 years.
French: In French lessons, we will be looking at colours, parts of the body, adjectives, zoo animals, and the letters of the alphabet.
