Eco Schools

Welcome to our Eco club page

The Priory Catholic Eco club runs every Thursday from 3:15

until 4:30 with Mrs Mucha and Miss Evans.

We are blessed with large and beautiful grounds surrounding our school to nurture and look after. We are also very proud to have extremely dedicated children, who enjoy looking after all of our habitats around the school and keeping it 'buzzing' with wildlife.

It is thanks you all your hard work that we have achieved our Gold Eco Schools status.

Keep an eye on our page for lots of updates and pictures of all our fun seasonal activities and how we help the school and our local community stay green!

Autumn term 2019 - We love September. New faces, harvesting our homegrown fruit & vegetables, the leaves are turning and there is a chill in the air.

Awesome Autumn - Filled with beauty, apples, pears, leafy fun and sweet treats from our harvests. We love it.

Our end of year summer eco trips to celebrate all the hard work our warriors learn throughout the seasons

Late Autumn and Spring 2017 have been lots of fun and very productive. We have planted many plants, including our buddlehea (provided by the PTA) and a new hedge, pruned trees (with Michael and Dan from Wildlife & Eco gardens), put up more habitats for the birds and bats,(with Mr Timby), worked on our meadow boundary putting in new posts and plants, made bird feed, met lots of different people from the community, who we have learnt lots from and we have so much planned for our Summer term ahead :) Have a look at all our pictures for a glimpse into Eco club and all the fab things we do.

LOTS of work done on our wonderful school pond, which is such a fantastic habitat to have. See all the hard work that has been done on it here and don't forget to look out the hall window to see if you can see any wildlife. Let someone from eco club know if you do :)

Summer fun at Eco. We have been making a scarecrow for the Greasley gathering, holding a stall at our school summer fayre. Not to mention busy as ever, looking after our plants and birds and other habitats. We had a Saturday workshop to get some jobs done including; Taking ivy off the trees, maintaining our gravel path. We have also been improving our bug hotels and staining our bird tables.

We have all been very busy bees. Having lots of fun this Spring. We have gone on nature hunts, made new log piles, planting vegetables, weeding, sorting our meadow, and being excellent stewards of our grounds and school environment! more pictures coming soon.

Oh what fun. We have been making leaf compost, log piles, muddy hands, pretending to be a deer, leaf compost, party food and hot chocolate in the woods with a good old fashioned sing song! Have a fantastic Christmas Break Eco clubers, see you all in 2016 :)

Litter picks, Log piles, Feeding the birds, making new habitats, puddle jumping and howling by the moonlight - These are just some of the fun things we have all done, come rain or shine. We hope you enjoy our pictures.

Late summer and early autumn fun in Eco club. We have all been busy bees!

A new school year of eco fun. We have been harvesting and enjoying the fruit of our labour.
