What do you know about lighthouses?

What a lovely time we had on our trip to the Crich Tramway Museum - lots of fun and learning, well done.
We began with a visit to a Victorian school and explored how life was different in a Victorian classroom by dressing up, using slates, trying out and making Victorian toys - we agreed we would not have liked to go to school back then and prefer our class today!
We went on a tram ride with our ha'pennies and saw the memorial lighthouse - unusual as it is not by the sea but is a light of remembrance.
We had our picnic in the woodland walk area surrounded by unusual sculptures and had lots of fun playing in the stone maze, having a scavenger hunt and then an extra play on the park.
A visit to the tramway exhibition taught us more about changes in transport through time from horse drawn trams to steam power, to electricity and trams of today.
We had a much needed ice cream to finish off our day - yummy!
Â
We were very proud of your learning and behaviour on our trip Year 2 and hope you have lots of happy memories to take with you into the juniors next year.
