Check out our pictures from our recent trip to Carsington Water. The children became nature detectives; they learnt correct techniques for pond dipping and used a classification chart and a dichotomous key (impressive stuff) to classify the pond life they found as suggest reasons for the adaptations of these creatures. In the afternoon, we found out about an animal likely to be found at Carsington and, in groups, presented what we found out to the rest of the class. Using the animal we researched, we created sculptures inspired by the work of Andy Goldsworhty; we certainly have some talented artists in the class. We all enjoyed out delicious lunches at the picnic area and I think the children enjoyed the "EPIC" playground!
