Welcome to Autumn 1!

 

We have an exciting half term ahead to begin our new school year. Have a look at what we have been doing...

 

In this half term we are learning about: 

  • Come and See - our topics include Loving - God who never stops loving and Commitment - the vocation of priesthood and religious life 
  • Literacy - overcoming the monster and biographies. 
  • Maths - following our White Rose scheme 
  • Science - Animals including humans - the Circulatory System
  • Computing - Communication is our topic 
  • Music - delivered by outside providers - our sessions will include singing 
  • French - Classroom routine
  • PE - this is on Mondays and Fridays
  • PSHE - Statements to live by:
    • I try to follow our school and classroom rules.
    • I know I belong in a community that includes my school.
    • I can say how I feel
    • I can laugh and have fun.
    • I know what to do if I see anyone being hurt.
    • I can tell you how I look after myself.

  • Maths homework - brown folders - complete sheets about place value - in for Friday 1.10.21
  • Reading comprehension - booklet - complete the reading task for this week - in for Monday 27.9.21
  • SPAG Homework - green folderscomplete sheet for pronouns and relative pronouns - in for Thursday 30.9.21
  • Spellings - yellow book - to be tested and in for Monday 27.9.21 - remember these are tested in a random order and also put into a dictated sentence.
  • Practise timestables - back of blue reading journals - to be tested daily and then an extended test- usually on a Thursday
  • Please also practise your hand writing 
  • Please complete 3 reading challenges a week, as well as reading each day and recording this in your journal and the log at the front of your journal. Remember if you read 5 days across the week you'll earn a dojo.
