Our last week before half term was our Superhero week.
On the last Friday, as a reward for all our hard work and good behaviour we had a dress up and film day- which we all really enjoyed!
WC: 5th October we will be using the book
'My History'. We will talk about our families, paint them in photo frames and make puppets for each family member. We will recap and build on our knowledge of 2d shapes by finding them and sorting them outside.
Our learning this week was based on Handa's Surprise a story that we all really enjoyed. We looked at the names of the fruits in Handa's basket and then tasted a few of them and they were delicious! We produced some fantastic observational drawings of the fruit from the story. In our Literacy we were able to make shopping lists to buy fruits from the story, we practised hearing and writing the initial sounds- Amazing children-keep practising.
Our learning was focused on the story of 'Funny bones.' We made our own puppets for each of the characters, designed and made new Funny bones houses, read and retold the story, explored shape and repeated pattern.
Another busy week, the children have been doing so much learning.
We have been playing with the cars and garage, making our family, looking after the dolls outside, counting and thinking of things we like to do. We have been practising the tricky word I.
In our phonics we have been saying, writing the sounds, s,a,t,p,i,n.
We have been busy painting our faces, writing the letters in our name, decorating photo frames, singing our favourite songs, listening to stories (Super Sue), and counting with numbers to 5.
We really enjoyed having a tour of school, meeting all the new adults, learning their names and singing songs with them
