Friday's Sponsored Bounce!

Adventures are the pits

For big writing this week you are going to be writing a letter to the boy in this video clip to give him some advice about what fun indoor play areas can be and how he can overcome his fears. How can you encourage him to think more positively? What are the fun things about indoor play areas? Can they be of benefit to your health? Might you make new friends? I can't wait to hear what exciting ideas you have to cheer this little boy up on Friday. Remember this is just talk homework, you don't have to write anything!

Something Fishy!

We are going to be using this clip as a stimulus for our Big Writing this week. Watch it with an adult and decide how you would retell the story of the girl's adventure. The story starts in a boring launderette and ends up much more thrilling. What exciting vocabulary would you use? Think about prepositions and adverbs. What adjectives could you use to describe the launderette, the fish the girl meets and of course the shark. How could you include apostrophes and when would you change paragraphs?

Reading our hedgehog stories to the children in reception. 23.5.17

We'll be using this clip as a stimulus for our Big Writing this week. We will be pretending that we are the child and writing a diary of his day. Talk to your adults about the things that happened - in the right order; words to describe the setting at the beginning of the story and when the boy arrived on the planet. What words could you use to describe how the alien looked and the boys feelings during the story? What conjunctions could you use to join your paragraphs? Could you use any prepositions?

Hedgehog Awareness Week.

We have had the most wonderful day today, as it has been our hedgehog day!  We were joined by Sara from Twiggaras Hogspital and Ann who is one of our neighbours.  We learned lots about hedgehogs and how we can help boost their numbers as there are less than 1 million hedgehogs left in the wild!

We also met Stevie the blind hedgehog who loved meeting us all and was very active!  We did some super creative work - check out the pictures below. Many thanks to Mr John Timby, The Wildlife Gardeners and Mr Ian Chamberlain who have made the most amazing hedgehog houses, all ready for The Big Hedgehog Release on Thursday at dusk!

We're really looking forward to our assembly tomorrow - starting at 2.35pm - all welcome!

Easter Rocks and Roles.

The Year 3 and 4 production 2017.

Or should we call it a theatrical sensation?  The children have one more performance remaining, and are going from strength to strength.  Everyone has been impressed with their acting, singing and the super effort the children have put in to retelling the Easter Story.  Well done everyone, we are all incredibly proud of you.

Many thanks to parents and carers too, for their help with learning lines, song words and organising costumes.

Check out the cast photos below!

Happy Easter to you all.
