Playdough Project -
1. Make playdough https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/playdough-recipe (You can either create a playdough character or simply just have a piece of playdough).
2. Write a step by step guide about how you made your playdough.
3. Write adjectives about your playdough creation.
4. Place your playdough in different places and write about the preposition of the playdough.
5. Create a poster about your playdough creation.
6. Write a story about your playdough creation. (You could use your IT skills to add photo’s and make this into a story booklet that you would share with a younger child).
7. Animate a story of your playdough creation and record it. 8. Write a newspaper report about the mysterious playdough that landed on earth.

Friday 25th October
Another busy week in Year 3.
In Literacy, we finished 'I believe in Unicorns' and wrote a newspaper article about the grand re-opening of the village library. In science, we looked at how muscles work and in DT we evaluated our completed cereal bars and looked at how we could improve our design specification.

Friday 18th October
This week in Literacy, we started our new topic - imaginary worlds and began to read 'I believe in Unicorns' by Michael Morpurgo. In RE we looked at the promises made at Baptism. In Geography we created our own factsheet on Eastwood and in DT we turned the final design of our cereal bar into the actual finished product.

Friday 11th October
This week in Year 3 we wrote a persuasive letter to Cadburys telling them about our exciting new cereal bar. In Science, we conducted an investigation to see who had longer forearms children or adults. In RE we started our new topic- Promises and looked at what commitments and promises we make in our everyday life.

Friday 4th October
In Literacy this week, we started to look at persuasive writing. We also looked at TV adverts aimed at children and what persuasive techniques they had used. In Maths, we started our new topic - addition and subtraction. In Geography, we looked at the important features in our local area and in RE we made 'Thank you for our homes' cards.

This week in Year 3 the children walked up to the main road to conduct a traffic survey as part of their computing and local area topics. In Literacy, this week we have looked at the importance of images when writing a set of instructions. In Science, we have started to look at the functions of a skeleton and in DT we have taste tested ingredients for our cereal bars.

On Monday morning, we had a special assembly by Nottingham Forest Football Club
In Science, we looked at why humans and animals need different diets. In Literacy, we looked at writing a set of instructions and in DT we began to look at the advertising and packaging on cereal bars.

Friday 13th September
This week in Year 3 we have started all our new topics.
In Literacy, we started to read George's Marvellous Medicine. In Maths, we have been learning about place value and number lines. In Science, we started to think about nutrition and what a balanced diet looks like. In RE, we started our Homes topic and thought about what makes a house a home. In DT, we looked at cereal bars and evaluated their ingredients to see how healthy they were.
In Geography, we started our local geographical area of Eastwood.

The children have settled well into Year 3 this week. We have had lots of fun getting to know each other and taking part in fun team activities.
